My best wishes for the New Year to you! 🙂 Do you also have the impression that December (but also the whole year) has passed quite fast? Even though the Christmas markets in Europe are finishing and we are now in January already, I still have a few lines and again plenty of pictures from our trip to Dresden few days before the Christmas. I love to visit Christmas markets in Germany! They are very well decorated, still traditional compared to Belgium or France, and they have some damn good and unhealthy food! 😀
For the Czech people, Dresden is the closest Chrismas markets in Germany and so every year, many of us go there to get the German touch of the Advent period. Yes, we have some pretty Christmas markets in Prague and other cities too, but just to change a bit. 😉 Last year and also in 2016, I took my mum and my sister, hoping that they would relax a bit during the busy preparation for Christmas. This thought was actually very naive. 😀 Even during the working days in the last week before Christmas, the city is packed with people.
I guess you are still tired after the New Years´ celebration and so I will not go on with practical talks, you can find all the important information here. Instead, I will share pictures from 2016 with you, so that you can still enjoy the Christmas spirit and maybe get inspired for a city break to Christmas markets in Dresden this year again in the Advent period. 😉
I will not give you any tips for good restaurants as neither last year nor in 2016 we did not have a good experience where we ate, but I will give you a tip for a good cake place! 🙂 We liked a lot a stylish coffee place situated in the shopping gallery at Altmarkt – Kreutzkamm. They have some good choice in cakes!
So this is it! Did you like this virtual walk? Have you visited Dresden already? Which cities do you like to go for Chrismas markets? Let me know in the comments below the text!
